COACHING
Coaching is always an
ongoing and integral part of my practice, be it professional or
personal. In the realignment of an organizational culture, one of the
most critical components is the shift from an executive's focus on
management to a focus on leadership.
Approach to coaching: My approach to
coaching is to co-create with my client, a customized approach to
facilitate the client's desired change until the results are firmly
embedded. In my work I present a new paradigm for development, that of
accessing one's internal environment as a basis for achievement, hence
awakening the leader within. Many tend to split off the act of
leadership/work from the person. As we learn to master our own growth
as a leader/person, we begin on the path of mastery from the inside
out. "Leadership is not simply something we do; leadership is a
process, an expression of who we are".
Uniqueness: My clients tell me that they
can trust me from the beginning, hence we extablish rapport early and
can get on with their work I create space for them to see their own
shortcomings, rather than judging them. I have an intiutive,
responsive ability. developed over of years of experience and my own
inner work. I can access an amazing number of responsive tools which
clients can use to facilitate them finding their own right answer. The
processes I use both support and challenge, a necessary combination to
growth.
Sample work in this
area: A " new to the role" senior H R manager was appointed in a
municipal government corporation. Her interest was in having a coach
as a sounding board to think through the strategic roles and
responsibilities of her department in the context of the ever changing
external environment of her internal clients.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Process consulting,
focusing on guiding organizations as they manage transitions. Sample
work in this area: Consult on change management issues in a large
retail corporation of 5,000 employees. A new CEO was charged with the
responsibility of revisioning the future direction of the corporation
, implementing a strategic pathing process to enable the Corp. to move
to more strategic thinking and to realign the culture to support the
new direction.
TRAINING AND LEARNING
A seasoned group
facilitator, team builder, and trainer. Sample of work: Pioneered an
experiential workshop entitled 'Awakening The Leader Within," that is
offered with success across Canada. It is aimed at creating a new
paradigm of leadership development for senior leaders.
ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT
Customized and
implemented innovative OD interventions based on the needs of the
client. Sample of work: Facilitated the realignment of a
communications company business strategy to a desired vision, values
and supporting organizational culture.
